Manufacturers of cosmetics and body care products in the EU lose up to 14% of their turnover per year, the newspaper Handelsblatt reports with reference to a study published earlier this week by the EUIPO (European Union Intellectual Property Office). Martin Fiebig, partner at our Berlin office, explains in the interview with Handelsblatt that, despite the troubling statistics, combatting the sale of counterfeits on online marketplaces and web shops has shown significant effects over the past years.
